| Description: | Johnson Brothers Greenhouses is a 10-acre grower/ retail nursery serving the Willamette Valley area. We serve our customers year round with a vast variety of annual bedding plants, a perennial department offering 100’s of selections, as well as trees, shrubs, indoor plants, garden tools, accessories and more! We specialize in annual hanging baskets and Poinsettias. We strive hard to maintain our 25-year reputation of growing our own quality plants that sets us apart from other plant retailers in the area and makes us “The Place For Plants”. It is our desire to employ an experience individual to manage all departments of our retail business. Job Description: 1. Seek and hire retail employees in a timely manner as needed 2. Manage employees efficiently including work schedules, daily duties, performance, work reviews, discipline, termination and lay offs of seasonal employees 3. Purchase all retail products and keep accurate inventory records and control 4. Work cooperatively with marketing, merchandising, special promotions and advertising sales 5. Organize and participate in special events, facilitate or lead workshops, and special promotions 6. Be accountable with regular meetings with Grower/ Owner 7. Continuous personal growth in product knowledge, current sales trends, advertising/ marketing and management skills Job Qualifications: The ideal candidate for this position must have: 1. 5 or more years of positive management experience 2. Personal passion and experience with growing plants of all kinds 3. Extensive/Broad plant knowledge 4. Positive attitude, personable and have strong customer service skills 5. Get along well with all personnel 6. Maintain confidentiality concerning all staff issues and JBGH business details. The Plant Nursery General Manager is the ONLY position we have open.
